The meditative spiritual journey that we forty strangers took together through movement without words became lifted us all to being in the space and yet all connected in another worldly space at the same time. It was so amazingly joyful and positive.

I will never look at the Winter Garden in the same way. Since the first time I entered it in the summer of 2000 I have traveled through it in a state of waking sleep. Now I have a totally new connection to the space.

Working with the Shua Group gave me an opportunity to do something outside of my daily routine and yet it was in the location I go to daily. I was free to do things I wouldn't ordinarily do in the Winter Garden. I especially liked running from square to square, walking back and forth on the staircase and lying on my back and looking up at the top of the atrium.

I met some terrific people. People I might only have walked past and never gotten to know otherwise.

I was always aware of the arts program but I didn't take full advantage of it. Now I will make more of an effort.

Thank You All! I had a wonderful experience meeting & moving with you! What other than art could bring such an eclectic vivid bunch together in harmony. Ladies & gentlemen ranging in age from grandkids to grandparents, races & nationalities from what seemed to encompass the planet, and it was sameness of mind that drew us together towards the Shua Group magnet.

What a beautiful opportunity to play a kid in a great big, expensive grown up playground! My favorite things were the wedding cake and up and down. And when we were doing the school of fish, I believe I learned how fish feel in a school. I felt pulled into other people's orbits by the currents. Fish must enjoy just being with their own species.

I loved how Josh explained what he wanted. It was such a different way of communicating, different from the very precise effort to convey exact meaning that I have to deal with in my "real" life. I am delighted he and Laura have the courage to devote their lives to the creation of vague impressions. If I'd never met them, I never would have seen how cool the atrium looks when you are lying on the floor and gazing up.

It's just amazing how art and collaboration could transcend all manner of barriers, brought people from different cultures, backgrounds and ages together, and created such a beautiful performance. Thanks for Laura Y Josh, and every one in the group.

Participating in GPD was very unique and memorable experience for me. As I have told Laura Y Josh, I felt I did something "extraordinary". It was my very first time to perform in public. I really enjoyed the whole process of it, really enjoyed working with Josh, Laura, and each one in the group. I was very happy to be a part of it, to be able to contribute something to the art, to this world.
Every time I pass thru the winter garden, it always reminds me of the fun we had in this space. strolling with strangers; swirling into school of fish; spinning off, crawling on the marble floor; toddling; crushing into each other; jumping up and down; stepping on squares; circling stairs; posing; putting down and picking up; and freezing at the end. I really miss every part of it. BTW,I still see our performance playing on the big Screen today.

The Shua Group captured the very essence of the activities in the day-to-day life that revolves around the WFC. Everything from the busy workers, the children playing during the quite time of the day to the variety of tourists who comes to see the sights.
I was able to be part of a very special project and work with artists whose vision was truely magical. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of it.

Shua Group transformed the Winter Garden into a sacred performance space; 40 office workers and residents into a unified corps of performers; and the joyful performers into a swirling school of fish.

Choreographers, performers, visitors and audience all experienced enlightenment.

I use the World Financial Center regularly, move in it, but it always appeared to me to be such a pristine, over-administered place (like a mall or an airport)--other than for the art events. But the performance made me see that we all indeed express ourselves in the space, the way we move, from crossing it hastily and even impatiently to lingering endlessly and lovingly catching the light and sound of various parts of it. In a way, it's pristinenness---carefully maintained by much hard work that the installation to the performance thankfully highlights--is nothing more than kind of clean canvas for us to express ourselves to some degree.

The performance reflected those movements and expressions and explored their extent and limits. It affected me, as it did others--I will never look at the place the same way. I see better how various people use it, and now it actually happens that I run into a familiar face.

The group performance truly established a kind of sudden community and a more lasting sense of neighborhood for me. Josh and Laura were great to work with, and the drama of the piece was its constant revision and development, and also the slow recognition of the entire "cast"--from an early rehearsal with just one other person to the finale of all us toegther and the sound and light and the video installation. I am thrilled to have been part of it all!! Thank you Laura and Josh!

Thank you all so much! The most amazing part of it all for me was connecting with so many different, new, wonderful people and creating these beautiful moments in time together.
